Colossians 3:18

KJV—Wives, submit yourselves unto your
own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord.

NIV—Wives, submit to your husbands,
as is fitting in the Lord.

Amp—Wives, be subject to your husbands—
subordinate and adapt yourselves
to them—as is right and fitting and your
proper duty in the Lord.

1 Peter 3:1-5

NKJV—Wives, likewise, be submissive to
your own husbands, that even if some do
not obey the word, they, without a word,
may be won by the conduct of their wives,
when they observe your chaste conduct accompanied
by fear. Do not let your adornment
be merely outward—arranging the
hair, wearing gold, or putting on fine
apparel—rather let it be the hidden person
of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of
a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious
in the sight of God. For in this manner,
in former times, the holy women who
trusted in God also adorned themselves,
being submissive to their own husbands.

NIV—Wives, in the same way be submissive
to your husbands so that, if any of
them do not believe the word, they may be
won over without words by the behavior of
their wives, when they see the purity and
reverence of your lives. Your beauty should
not come from outward adornment, such
as braided hair and the wearing of gold
jewelry and fine clothes. Instead, it should
be that of your inner self, the unfading
beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which
is of great worth in God’s sight. For this is
the way the holy women of the past who
put their hope in God used to make themselves
beautiful. They were submissive to
their own husbands.

Psalm 147:13

KJV—For he hath strengthened the bars
of thy gates; he hath blessed thy children
within thee.

Amp—For He has strengthened and
made hard the bars of your gates; and He
has blessed your children within you.

Proverbs 31:10-31

KJV—Who can find a virtuous woman?
for her price is far above rubies. The heart
of her husband doth safely trust in her, so
that he shall have no need of spoil. She
will do him good and not evil all the days
of her life.

She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh
willingly with her hands. She is like the merchants’
ships; she bringeth her food from
afar. She riseth also while it is yet night, and
giveth meat to her household, and a portion
to her maidens. She considereth
a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands
she planteth a vineyard. She girdeth her
loins with strength, and strengtheneth her
arms. She perceiveth that her merchandise
is good: her candle goeth not out by night.
She layeth her hands to the spindle, and
her hands hold the distaff. She stretcheth
out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth
forth her hands to the needy.
She is not afraid of the snow for her
household: for all her household are clothed
with scarlet. She maketh herself coverings
of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple.
Her husband is known in the gates, when
he sitteth among the elders of the land. She
maketh fine linen, and selleth it; and delivereth
girdles unto the merchant. Strength
and honour are her clothing; and she shall
rejoice in time to come. She openeth her
mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is
the law of kindness. She looketh well to the
ways of her household, and eateth not the
bread of idleness.

Her children arise up, and call her
blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth
her. Many daughters have done virtuously,
but thou excellest them all. Favour is deceitful,
and beauty is vain: but a woman that
feareth the Lord, she shall be praised. Give
her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own
works praise her in the gates.
